Yes, it's now just past 37 weeks, and the Baby Watch is on. I thought about doing a cool Fox News-like graphic, but then I decided I was too lazy.

The official induction date, if we get that far is May 15. I told the doctor that since this was my 4th kid in 5 years, I wanted some control over when it came. I have no problems waiting until my due date (the 16th), but I was not planning to go beyond said date. He was fine with that. They're still a little scared of me, I think (a story for another day), so they let me have a little more leeway than other patients.

The old body is doing its best to prepare - Doctor said I was 3cm and 30% effaced. Of course, since my mother can't get here until May 5th, she's afraid that I'll drop the baby in the middle of the Target aisle and have no one to help me. Tom and I aren't stupid, though - we have backup plans. Luckily, we have friends here in Minnesota, and we can call any of them for help if we need it. Our Scottish friends, the Mooney-McKenzie's, are all ready and raring to go if we call them at 3 am to come watch the kiddos. I think they're nuts, but they're so excited about the whole thing that it's absolutely adorable.

So, I'll keep you up-to-date as developments occur. I might have to edit my entries so as not to freak out my poor mother (I've decided that if I go into labor before she gets here, I'm not calling to tell her until after the baby is born, so as not to unnecessarily upset her).
